Located at 14 Giorgi Chitaia St, Tbilisi, Georgia, Coffee Lair is a gem of a cafe that blends the charm of local culture with a cozy atmosphere perfect for work or relaxation. This cafe offers more than just a caffeine fix; it’s a sanctuary for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike, welcoming all with open arms (although you may need a little patience as the staff isn’t always fluent in English).

The moment you walk into Coffee Lair, you're enveloped in a warm ambiance that encourages you to stay awhile. The echoes of laughter mingle with the classic sounds of coffee grinding, creating an inviting space that's both tranquil and stimulating, ideal for working on your next project or catching up with friends.

For coffee aficionados, the standout offerings include their Americano, which has been described as "eye-opening," and their delightful cappuccino, praised for its rich flavor. If you’re in the mood for something a bit different, don't miss out on their selection of craft beers, including the robust Putin Huylo, a dry-hopped golden ale that balances bitterness with sweet undertones, and Lviv Stout, which is infused with freshly ground coffee aromas perfect for stout lovers.

The food menu is equally impressive, featuring a variety of comforting options that tempt the palate. Indulge in their cheesecake with homemade strawberry sauce, which strikes the perfect balance between creamy and sweet, or warm up with a delightful champignon cream soup or a refreshing okroshka to experience a traditional Slavic cold soup that bursts with flavors of summer.

Real customers share their experiences, reflecting a genuine appreciation for the cafe's vibe. One visitor, Aisling Smith, pointed out how Coffee Lair became her go-to spot during her five-week stay in Tbilisi, appreciating the good coffee and the freedom to work undisturbed. While some might feel the service is a bit distant, many have found it to be a matter of cultural communication rather than disregard. For example, Mountain Ash noted that while there may be a bit of a wait for food, the quality is worth it. Ultimately, the unique atmosphere combined with quality food and beverages creates a distinctive experience that is hard to find elsewhere in Tbilisi.

So whether you're here for a quick coffee break, a leisurely afternoon with a book, or even to tackle some work, Coffee Lair welcomes you with a comforting embrace and a promise of delightful flavors. Don’t hesitate to visit – your taste buds will thank you!

Nice spot to work in. The staff are fine, not friendly or unfriendly per se, just are there doing their thing. Good coffee and portion size. Nice place to work from. Cappuccino is yummy

Perhaps I am spoiled by my two favourite (and let me add fabulous) cafes in Batumi which is why my expectations when I visit Tbilisi are too high for what is typically available. The flat white coffee is good mainly because they have a proper espresso machine (4/5). The cheese cake with home made strawberry sauce is very good. It is a tad too sweet for my taste but I am aware that most people prefer the sweetness (4.5/5). The soup was disappointing. Instead of a soup of the day they have three different soups. In a cafe that is not very popular (there are simply too many cafes in Tbilisi these days and the location is not optimal for tourists who are the main clientele in these establishments) it makes no sense to have three soups. It is preferable to have a soup of the day that is wholesome and nutritional. The soup I chose is a zucchini soup but honestly it tasted like a pea soup made from powders. The staff are friendly and English speaking. The bottom line is if you crave a yummy cake or pastry and a decent cup of coffee and happen to be in the area by all means head there.

Friendly staff. Cool vibes. Good food. Eye-opening Americano. Try the Scramble Lair - it's a breakfast beast.

I had really positive experiences here during my 5 weeks in Tbilisi. I’d often come here to work. The staff leave you alone to do your thing, but the coffee and drinks are good.

Most of the reviews shame the staff… but it’s just a communication/translation Issue as they don’t speak English. They tried and that’s enough. The cafe is clean and cool with nice tables and a great menu of drinks and food (takes too long to make, but it’s good). They also have a great selection of craft beer, but it’s a bit on the more expensive side (compared to 7 Roads nearby).
